GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Patrick Morrisey asked West Virginians to pause for a moment of silence and prayer at 2:15 p.m. last Friday to honor two National Guard members who were ambushed while serving in Washington, D.C. on November 26—Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, a 20-year-old from Summersville, died on Thursday from her injuries while Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe was injured. - ➤ West Virginia's childhood vaccine law—one of only five without religious exemptions—has been challenged in courts, the governor's office, and the Legislature, and these actions may weaken the protections that help keep school children highly immunized.
