- ➤ Governor Patrick Morrisey said efforts to rescue a missing Nicholas County coal miner continue after Alpha Metallurgical’s Rolling Thunder Mine flooded on Saturday, with crews pumping about 6,000 gallons of water per minute to lower the water and allow additional rescue attempts—efforts that have advanced as of Tuesday.
