- ➤ Facing Hunger Food Bank in Huntington delivered over 125 tons of food to pantries during the weekend as SNAP cuts and a government shutdown increased food need—volunteers, staff, and the National Guard helped make deliveries. The food bank set up a mobile distribution at Christ Temple Church that served food for 600 families—and it will continue to serve all week. WSAZ
- ➤ Our Lady of Fatima Parish School hosted its 52nd annual spaghetti dinner on the first Sunday in November to raise funds for the school, with students serving as wait staff and community members enjoying desserts + a book fair. WSAZ
- ➤ Food banks throughout the Tri-State area are open to serve people in need and accept donations. The list shows available locations so residents can find support or help others. WSAZ
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Two 9-year-olds from Burlington Elementary died on Sunday afternoon when they lost control of their ATV near Chesapeake, Ohio and crashed into a bench and parked car — a vigil is being held today at South Point High School while local dairy bar owner Josh Bailey has organized a fundraiser for the families. - ➤ Students at Cabell Midland High School used a DUI simulator on Nov. 3 to learn how alcohol slows reaction time and makes driving dangerous — sessions will run until Wednesday before the simulator moves to Wahama High School in Mason County. WSAZ

- ➤ Marshall University held its 37th annual Health Sciences Research Day Monday, where over 150 healthcare students + postdoctoral researchers presented their work. Top presentations earned travel scholarships + will support future clinical breakthroughs. WCHS-TV
