GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ West Virginia's medical cannabis program collected about $34 million since its first dispensary opened in 2021 but state officials have not spent the funds because they are waiting for federal law to legalize medical marijuana. If the money is distributed later in October, $19 million will go to Public Health, nearly $8 million to the Fight Substance Abuse Fund, and the remaining amounts to the Division of Justice and Community Services and law enforcement training — a plan that remains on hold.
