- ➤ Volunteers in Kenova are carving jack-o-lanterns for 3,000 glowing pumpkins at the Pumpkin House on Beech Street, where food vendors will serve guests and visitors from around the world will arrive starting Friday — a festive showcase for the community. WSAZ

- ➤ A ribbon cutting on Wednesday afternoon marked the opening of the Aetna Better Health of West Virginia Educational Wing at St. Mary's Center for Education, adding two new classrooms with 90-seat capacity, laboratory, simulation, and a fitness room for faculty and staff. The expansion was made possible by more than $2.4 million in gifts — which also endowed a scholarship for nursing students. WSAZ
