CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ A locomotive that spent many years at the Huntington Railroad Museum is heading to the Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum in Sugarcreek, Ohio. The engine is moving slowly and will take five to seven months to complete its relocation — it will then be stored indoors to avoid further weather damage. WSAZ
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Marshall University shared a new rendering of its planned cyber security building that shows a modern design to support technology education — the design will guide future construction plans on campus. WSAZ
- ➤ Marshall University will begin construction immediately on a new 72,000 square-foot Institute for Cyber Security after awarding a $45 million bid to Neighborgall Construction—this facility will train future cyber professionals and serve as the west gateway to the Fourth Avenue innovation corridor. The project is expected to help the school become a national leader in cyber security education, research, and training. WSAZ
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A groundbreaking for Appalachian Outlaw Trails was held Wednesday in Belle, starting construction on a new multi-use trail system that will support off-roading, biking, hiking, and horseback riding + boost local tourism and business. The project will include a 24-site campground and is set to open by spring. WSAZ

- ➤ Transportation officials said Interstate 64 near Barboursville was reduced to one lane overnight on Wednesday and will be reduced to one lane tonight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. as part of a project to install raised pavement markers for the 29th Street to Guyandotte widening project & local drivers should follow detours and use caution around the work area. - ➤ At the WVSSAC Golf Championship at Oglebay Resort, Hurricane’s Carson O’Dell earned an individual title with a two-day score of 153 — giving his team an eight-shot win over Washington — while Midland Trail’s Jacob Brown, Charleston Catholic’s Will Gruse, Princeton’s McCartney Hinkle and Shady Spring also won state championships.
