- ➤ Racers gathered at Ritter Park Sunday morning to raise money for upgrading a memorial for fallen fire fighters at Station 1 in Huntington. Lieutenant Dustin Bumgardner said extra funds will support firefighter safety + further training, and donations are still welcome at Station 1. WSAZ
- ➤ Today, Chili Fest in Huntington brings the community together as locals try many chili flavors and support the Ronald McDonald House with each $1 ticket — a tradition where competitors like Bill Donovan have come since 1987 — making it the biggest event of the year. WCHS-TV

- ➤ Jim Reader, a celebrated journalist—known for his work at WSAZ, WCHS and WOWK—died at 81 after a two-year battle with lymphoma. He was a key figure in local broadcasting who influenced many in the Charleston-Huntington corridor. MetroNews

- ➤ Vandalia Health CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital hosted a NICU grad party on Sunday, where families celebrated with a petting zoo, stuffed animals and balloon art for babies and children. - ➤ Marshall University’s School of Pharmacy will sponsor two immunization clinics — one today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Shawkey Dining Room in the Marshall Memorial Student Center and another on October 3rd at the main lobby of Stephen J. Kopp Hall — that offer shots for flu, Covid, RSV, and shingles to students, faculty, and the public.
