  • On Saturday night, thousands gathered at Joan C. Edwards Stadium for a Zach Bryan concert that boosted local business as law enforcement had planned extra patrols and cooling stations—officials will meet soon to tweak future event plans.  WCHS-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The West Virginia Education Association and American Federation of Teachers-West Virginia merged to form Education West Virginia, with Dale Lee and Kristie Skidmore serving as co-presidents until spring. The new union will tackle classroom behavior issues and fight changes in PEIA cost splits as state lawmakers meet at the Capitol—efforts that aim to strengthen educators' voice.  MetroNews

  • On Saturday, Marshall head coach Tony Gibson will lead his team out of the Shewey Building for his first appearance as the Herd’s coach. Despite a 45-7 loss, he said his team had its best fall practice and looks forward to a friendly home crowd (unlike their game in Athens, GA).  WSAZ
