ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The eastbound lanes on U.S. 60 near mile marker 6.95 are closed after a vehicle crash — deputies are working on the scene.  WSAZ
  • A fire damaged the storage building at Haddad Riverfront Park on Sep. 1 — and a multi-vehicle crash on I-64 near Nitro at mile marker 46 shut down lanes while leaving one person dead and another injured in an ATV accident.  WSAZ

CULTURE NEWS

  • Country music star Zach Bryan performed Saturday night at The Joan—drawing more than 30,000 fans to the Marshall University landmark in Huntington. His tour also featured stops at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Golden Gate Park, and Met-Life Stadium.  WSAZ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Fairland High School golf team visited First Look at Four to share details about their upcoming car show fundraiser—more information on event timing and location is expected to be announced later.  WSAZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The 17th Street Bridge will have temporary lane closures tonight at 10 p.m. for an inspection — both northbound and southbound lanes will reopen at 6 a.m. with work finishing by Sept. 5.  WSAZ
  • Lawmakers are questioning whether Governor Morrisey’s four-point plan to change the Public Employees Insurance Agency will be taken up in a special session as national medical cost inflation is expected to add about $50 million in expenses each year—some legislators worry that removing spousal coverage and shifting cost shares for new hires may hurt public recruitment and retention.  MetroNews
