- ➤ A fire damaged the storage building at Haddad Riverfront Park on Sep. 1 — and a multi-vehicle crash on I-64 near Nitro at mile marker 46 shut down lanes while leaving one person dead and another injured in an ATV accident. WSAZ

- ➤ Country music star Zach Bryan performed Saturday night at The Joan—drawing more than 30,000 fans to the Marshall University landmark in Huntington. His tour also featured stops at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Golden Gate Park, and Met-Life Stadium. WSAZ

- ➤ Lawmakers are questioning whether Governor Morrisey’s four-point plan to change the Public Employees Insurance Agency will be taken up in a special session as national medical cost inflation is expected to add about $50 million in expenses each year—some legislators worry that removing spousal coverage and shifting cost shares for new hires may hurt public recruitment and retention.
