  • Unlimited Future Inc. in Huntington now accepts SNAP Stretch benefits—extending food stamps to help customers stretch their dollars further. The new program will allow local shoppers to get more value on their grocery purchases.  Charleston Gazette-Mail

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On Saturday, an ammonia leak at the Chemours Plant in Belle forced a shelter in place order in parts of Kanawha County until officials contained the spill and ended the risk to public health. The incident recalls past chemical spills in our industrial region—reminding residents of the importance of taking swift safety measures during such events.  WSAZ

SPORTS NEWS

  • Marshall’s fall football camp ended Saturday at Joan C. Edwards Stadium under a hot morning sun—new coach Tony Gibson said his players made progress during scrimmages. The 105-player team, which includes 72 newcomers, will choose a starting quarterback and work on improvements before classes begin Monday—aiming to be ready for the season opener against Georgia on August 30th.  MetroNews
