  • Governor Patrick Morrisey urged families at Meadowbrook Mall in Bridgeport to shop tax-free during West Virginia’s four-day sales tax holiday starting Friday until Monday at midnight—deals apply to items like clothing up to $125, school supplies up to $50, computers up to $500, and select sports gear. He said the holiday is expected to save West Virginians $3.4 million in total.  MetroNews
  • Consumer advocate groups told the Public Service Commission that Appalachian Power and Wheeling Power mismanaged fuel procurement—this mismanagement has cost ratepayers hundreds of millions so far while the companies have requested a $71.6 million rate hike that will add to future costs.  Charleston Gazette-Mail
