🏛️ Government
Mountain State Co-hop received a $311,184 grant from the West Virginia Department of Agriculture on Monday afternoon to help local producers sell their goods.
The funds will upgrade processing at its Flemington headquarters and at Jarhead Farm in Alderson—strengthening the local food supply chain.
The West Virginia Department of Human Services now accepts applications for the 2025 School Clothing Allowance program to help families buy school clothes — eligible families get a $200 benefit per child if they meet income guidelines and submit July income papers by July 31.
Families may apply online or request a paper form, and benefits will be given on an EBT card or by check for foster care recipients.

🏈 Sports
Marshall men's basketball will open its season on November 3 with a game at Massachusetts as part of the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge while the women's team hosts Buffalo at the Cam Henderson Center.
Three Marshall players will join the NBA Summer League this week—Taevion Kinsey, Jon Elmore, and Obinna Anochili-Killen will play for NBA teams in Las Vegas.
