- ➤ West Virginia DoHS said that starting July 7, families with eligible children in state schools may apply for a $200 school clothing allowance if their income meets the rules and July income is verified; applications must be submitted by July 31 to receive the benefit on an EBT card or by check for foster care cases. - ➤ West Virginians for Energy Freedom released the Ratepayers’ Bill of Rights on Wednesday to ensure residents and businesses get fair energy rates and clear utility rules. Emmett Pepper of Energy Efficient West Virginia said the policy—meant to guide lawmakers and utilities after last session did little for fixed-income customers—builds on a recent survey showing most residents support renewable energy to lower bills.
