- ➤ On Saturday, Marshall University’s 75 Family Alumni Chapter with Fire and Iron Station 29 hosted Ride for the 75—a scavenger hunt and raffle that raised funds for the Marshall Legacy Fund supporting families of those lost nearly 55 years ago. - ➤ Police are investigating a shooting that injured one person on Sunday afternoon in Huntington—Cabell County dispatchers reported the incident on the 700 block of Jackson Avenue, and no further details on the injury have been released. WCHS-TV

- ➤ Nitro wide receiver Malachi Thompson, winner of last season’s Randy Moss Award, verbally committed to West Virginia University on June 12—he recorded 74 catches for 1,593 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2024.
