  • An Allegiant flight from Clearwater experienced an engine failure on Monday and made an emergency landing at Tri-State Airport, where passengers later boarded another plane for Clearwater + the aircraft remained at the airport undergoing an engine swap as of Thursday afternoon.  WSAZ

  • The Better Business Bureau urged teens and college students to research job postings carefully this summer after warning that scammers may offer quick hiring, conduct interviews over the phone, and ask for payment for equipment — steps that could put personal and financial information at risk.  WSAZ

  • Joseph Keffer from Chesapeake Middle School represented the local area at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C. with his father. He visited First Look at Four to share his experience + test spelling skills with Tim + Susan.  WSAZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Milton residents have struggled with unreliable water and city officials have launched a long-term upgrade project that will add a new storage tank near Kilgore Creek and update water lines along James River Turnpike—phase one has secured over $7 million while phase two will replace valves citywide with no timeline yet. This project aims to reduce ongoing water loss and improve service, though officials say the fix will not happen overnight.  WCHS-TV
  • The Public Employees Insurance Agency reported stable finances today – its revenue is $78 million ahead of budget and expenses are $22 million under estimates – while Gov. Patrick Morrisey and state officials review data for a possible special legislative session expected around mid-July.  MetroNews
