- ➤ Residents in Putnam County held a public meeting Monday morning to voice concerns about a roundabout plan for the Teays Valley road widening project and its effects on emergency vehicles and school bus routes. Senator Eric Tarr and transportation officials said they will meet with state legislators next week — and review over 550 public comments before moving ahead with the project. WSAZ

- ➤ Richard Lee Hill admitted to starting fires at Brighter Day Ministries Church and its unattached fellowship hall on Nine Mile Road in Lesage — his bond was set at $20,000 and he was taken to Western Regional Jail. WSAZ

- ➤ Marshall University appointed Alexandria Donathan as the new executive director of its Institute for Cyber Security, and she will oversee operations and future strategic partnerships to boost the institute’s role in cybersecurity education + strengthen its security framework. - ➤ After a 17-year break, cicadas have returned to Huntington parks, buzzing as officials work to clear them from tennis courts & sidewalks so that visitors can enjoy outdoor spaces.
