- ➤ Marshall University has expanded the Marshall Direct program to Putnam and Wayne counties, giving students with a 2.5 GPA a way to bypass the college application process. The program began in Cabell County in 2023 and expanded to Kanawha County in 2024, and it is accepting students for the fall term with nine applications received so far—more expected soon. WOWK-TV

- ➤ A federal judge ruled in favor of Shival Vyas, a Marshall University graduate student from India—ordering federal officials to restore his F-1 visa and work authorization while preventing his arrest, detention or deportation out of the court’s jurisdiction—just days before Marshall’s spring graduation.
