  • A Mother’s Day Brunch is planned this month to raise money for moms and babies in the area—Jennifer Chapman from Lily’s Place said the event will support local programs—and it is expected to help families in need.  WSAZ
  • Gritt’s Farm in Buffalo celebrated Mother's Day with Baby Animal Days offering baby goats, chicks, and flower arrangements for families; the farm will host the event again on Mother's Day weekend for those who missed it.  WOWK-TV

CRIME NEWS

  • Huntington police arrested two 19-year-olds in connection with a robbery-shooting on April 27 in the Highlawn community — one suspect turned himself in at the Cabell County Courthouse while a victim suffered a life-altering gunshot wound that left him paralyzed from the waist down.  WSAZ

  • Zach Smith visited First Look at Four with his students to share details about the upcoming Harmony House Renaissance Faire. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Cabell County Schools held a public hearing Monday on the proposed 2025 and 2026 budgets because fewer students mean less state aid—Superintendent Tim Hardesty said staff cuts may occur over the next two to three years while the board plans to vote on the budget May 20th.  WOWK-TV
