- ➤ Huntington police arrested 19-year-old Tayvon Nelson from Staten Island after a shooting on April 27 on Collis Avenue injured two people — Nelson was charged with 1st Degree Robbery and a warrant was issued for 19-year-old Messiah Peddie from Washington, DC for the same charge. WOWK-TV
- ➤ Two people were found dead after a reported stabbing on 19th Street in Huntington Saturday evening (around 6:19 p.m.) as police, fire, and EMS responded. WOWK-TV

- ➤ UMWA International President Cecil E. Roberts said on Saturday, May 3 that Friday’s sudden layoffs at NIOSH removed key safety programs for checking coal dust and silica, leaving worker protection in danger.
