- ➤ Volunteers from United Methodist Churches of the Nine Rivers District gathered on Saturday at Huntington Mall to pack about 25,000 shelf-stable meals for food insecure communities in a Rise Against Hunger event. More than 200 people worked from 9 to 11 a.m. — they used an assembly-line method to efficiently package the meals for families in need. WOWK-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Cabell County Schools Food Service Director Travis Austin said they are removing synthetic dyes from school meals as required by House Bill 2354 signed last month by Governor Patrick Morrisey. The new rule bans red dye #3 and #40, yellow dyes #5 and #6, blue dyes #1 and #2 and green dye #3 and will take effect on August 1 for the next school year. MetroNews
