- ➤ Gov. Patrick Morrisey signed House Bill 5691 in March to set aside $2.9 million from the Juul settlement (part of a $7.9 million total) for youth tobacco prevention and vaping programs statewide. Charleston Gazette-Mail

- ➤ Two local high school basketball teams won state championship trophies Saturday evening; George Washington edged Spring Mills 64-58 in double overtime at the Charleston Coliseum while Chapmanville defeated North Marion 71-67 in a Class AAA contest. WSAZ
- ➤ George Washington won the state championship in double overtime Saturday night at the Coliseum—beating Spring Mills as Dominic Sprouse and Noah Lewis led scoring—while in Class AAA, Chapmanville edged North Marion with Keaton Terry and Jay Brock combining for 43 points. WSAZ
- ➤ Over 100 youth football teams from 16 states have gathered at the Shawnee Sports Complex in Dunbar for the largest tournament in West Virginia (5th Annual Spring Battle in the Mountains). Games resume today at 8:00 a.m. WSAZ
