- ➤ On Friday, the Senate approved adding a locality-based raise to a 3% bump planned for teachers, school staff, and state police, but Saturday morning the House rejected the extra option, leaving legislators short of the final agreement needed by midnight on Saturday before sending it to Governor Morrisey's desk. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Women’s Collegiate Sports Protection Act, SB 502, passed on Saturday and creates permanent endowment funds to boost women’s collegiate sports by using interest earnings for scholarships, coaching and equipment. Senator Jay Taylor said the funds now cover all women’s sports programs in West Virginia. MetroNews
