- ➤ GHPRD (Greater Huntington Parks and Recreation District) hosted a free family fun night Tuesday, Feb. 24 at the St. Cloud Commons lounge, offering games and snacks for all ages. The district will soon hide a leprechaun in local parks to start a prize hunt. WSAZ
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ State delegates reviewed HB 5453 today (proposing block grants of $6,500 per student and extra aid for special ed) while Gov. Morrisey kept his current school aid in the budget and urged responsible spending for future improvements. MetroNews
- ➤ The House of Delegates Education Committee may vote today on HB 4425, a bill that would repeal 2023’s school transfer changes by returning athletic waiver decisions to the WVSSAC (which approves about 68 percent of waivers) and aims to restore local high school team competition. MetroNews
