- ➤ A water main break flooded a road near the intersection of 6th Avenue and 6th Street early Monday morning, and crews from West Virginia American Water worked to repair the break while drivers were advised to avoid the area. WSAZ

- ➤ Danny Boyd, a noted West Virginia filmmaker, writer and longtime educator, died last week at 69. He taught media studies at West Virginia State University for 33 years and founded the Paradise Film Institute to support local filmmaking (his acclaimed film Chillers earned a Silver Scroll) leaving a lasting legacy. - ➤ On Monday night, the city committee in Huntington voted to move forward with Mayor Farrell’s flood mitigation master plan for Fourpole Creek and plans to contract engineering services by the end of February. The project will build structures to hold extra water and restore creek banks to protect homes from repeated flooding. WSAZ
- ➤ On Monday, the state House Education Committee held a hearing on H.B. 4759 to revise high school athletic transfer rules. Del. Ferrell said the bill would require juniors and seniors to seek WVSSAC approval while freshmen and sophomores could transfer without permission to level play among schools. WSAZ
