- ➤ Cabell Midland High School hosted its FIRED UP FRIDAY Week 3 highlights yesterday, showcasing student talent + community pride in a school-led celebration that emphasized both academic and athletic achievements. WSAZ
- ➤ WV education leaders met with lawmakers Thursday to discuss changes to the State Aid Formula amid the Department of Education's budget proposals. Jackson County Superintendent William Hosaflook said the Finance Committee will consider impacts on special needs and school safety funding as it prepares its budget bill. WSAZ

- ➤ Appalachian Power is preparing for possible outages as a weekend winter storm is expected to bring up to 10 inches of wet snow and 0.5 inch of ice across parts of the region — crews are ready to respond while residents update emergency plans. MetroNews
