COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Sunday night, the museum hosted a low sensory evening with low lighting & quiet rooms to help children with sensory sensitivities and offer families a calm experience. The event was part of the museum’s schedule of free family programs including story times.  WSAZ
  • Warming shelters are open today to help residents stay safe as brutally cold temperatures hit overnight and will continue through Wednesday morning.  WSAZ

CULTURE NEWS

  • Albert Tiu (a recipient of international awards) performed a solo recital and led a piano master class at Marshall University School of Music on Sunday. The school will host its next free performance on Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m. for the public.  WSAZ
  • John Mulaney, a four-time Emmy winner, performed at the Keith-Albee on Saturday as part of his 'Mister Whatever' tour + fans lined up outside the theater while Jerry Seinfeld is set to take the stage on Feb. 6.  WSAZ

HEALTH NEWS

  • Officials said vandalism at a local water facility (on Jan. 19) left residents without clean water, and repair crews are working to restore the service.  WSAZ

SPORTS NEWS

  • Indiana clinched a 27 to 21 win over Miami on Jan. 19 in Miami Gardens at Hard Rock Stadium to complete a perfect season, led by Morgantown High School and WVU graduate Curt Cignetti who posted a 27 to 2 record in two seasons.  MetroNews
