  • The Education Alliance is accepting nominations for its Hope for the Future: School Business Partnership of the Year awards aimed at strengthening school-business ties that boost local workforce development — regional winners will receive $2,000 each and one statewide winner $25,000. Applications are due Feb. 28.  MetroNews

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • U.S. Senator Capito said the ARCH2 Hydrogen Hub project planned for Morgantown and nearby areas will boost local economic growth once the hydrogen market gains traction and manufacturers find buyers, even as slower-than-expected development continues.  MetroNews
  • Dr. Sami Abdulsalam from PJM warned lawmakers that West Virginia must upgrade its electric grid soon as forecasts predict power demand to jump to over 4% growth annually and the state’s sparse transmission lines may block new energy investments needed for major state plans.  MetroNews
