  • Marshall men try for a regular season sweep of Georgia State in a 4 p.m. Saturday game in Atlanta on ESPN+ after a close New Year’s Eve win, while the women’s team seeks a 10th straight win at the Henderson Center against Coastal Carolina at 1 p.m. locally.  MetroNews
  • The Georgia State Panthers beat Marshall 81-73 on Saturday at GSU Convocation Center in Atlanta as free throws helped spark a late rally; Tucker and Beam made key free throws to flip the game in their favor.  MetroNews
  • Marshall women won their tenth game in a row by defeating Coastal Carolina 80-74 at the Henderson Center. Peyton Ilderton led the win with 20 points while Ni’Kiah Chesterfield added 18, boosting the team to a 15-3 season.  WSAZ
  • The Mountaineers rallied with 16 unanswered points to beat Kansas 86-75 at Hope Coliseum on Saturday, Jan. 10, overcoming an eight-point deficit and improving their home record to 11-0. Coach Ross Hodge said the team showed resolve & exploited Kansas’ weak defense.  MetroNews
  • The WVU women’s basketball team lost 71-66 to 17th-ranked Texas Tech, snapping a seven-game win streak amid a challenging three-game stretch. The Mountaineers will meet 11th-ranked Iowa State at 3 p.m. today and face 13th-ranked TCU next Wednesday at Hope Coliseum.  MetroNews
